Only a miracle from God could have opened the doors for us to do ministry at the mens maximum security prison because in Trinidad very few are allowed in to minister. Not even our hosts, who have been ministering locally for decades had encountered an open door at this prison. How did God orchestrate this? Someone from the prison attended our Sunday evening worship service. Upon experiencing the worship they began a conversation with our hosts about bringing GWM into the prison. The following Friday morning the team headed into prison along with Jahn Moskowitz, the North American Director of Jews for Jesus, who was also visiting Trinidad for the purpose of missions work. GWM lead worship and Jahn shared his heart with the inmates. 67 men in prison voluntarily attended the service and 34, most of whom will spend many years in prison, surrendered their hearts to Christ and experienced true freedom.
In every country there is a place where the locals, including most churches, don’t go for fear of their own safety. In Trinidad that place is Beetham Gardens, a residential area full of men, women, children and families. In partnership with two local churches who have a burden for this area we lead an outdoor outreach on Wednesday evening. Grant estimates that the music was heard for over a mile. 45 people gave their life to Christ that night, including children and whole families.
A second outdoor event, this time in a poor rural area called Brazil, where we brought the love of Christ to the people. Once again, the team gave God their all in total embodied worship and service!
